My favourite gallery is the Scottish Portrait Gallery, here in Edinburgh. Truly great portrait artists get into the heart and mind of their sitters, and this guy is veryclose to being such an artist. He deserves a place in the National Portrait Gallery of America, if there is such a place. I feel that he’s still a youngish man, given a few more years maturity he could be great.
