Rolinda Sharples (1793 – 1838)

Posted by M.R.N. on July 3, 2013

No one knows for sure if Rolinda Sharples was born in New York or in Bath (South West England). As a young girl she started earning her living painting portraits and miniatures and she is generally celebrated as an American woman painter, even though, to tell the truth, she definitively moved back to Bristol in 1811, when she was 18.
