Interesting history painter. I didn’t know him, but even in the Wikipedia there are only two or three sentences.

He was well-known during his lifetime, then he fell into oblivion.

We’re considering the “George Washington At Valley Forge” painting for a news piece in the fall issue of national parks magazine. What’s the fee for running it at the size of 1/3 or 1/2 page? Please advise.
Thanks,
Nicole

I suppose you can post it fee free.

I am T H Matteson’s great, great grandaughter, the granddaughter of Matteson’s grandson Harry Dwight Matteson. I found this site while I was researching Harry Dwight as part of a general family search.
I have seen Mattson’s “Justice Court” and “The Turkey Shoot” when they were on display at the Fenimore Museum in Cooperstown, NY. I am interested in more information about Matteson’s paintings wherever they might be found.
