My grandmother bought a Charles Grant Beauregard painting of a madonna and twins. It is quite lovely, in a classical style. He was a French Canadian artist from I think Montreal who went to New York and was considered in the Hudson River artists. I know little about him other than that, but Pook and Pook unsuccessfully tried to sell a landscape of a mother and children for a very small price. I believe his larger portraits are valuable.

  3. I have an original 18×20 oil painting by Beauregard-Charles G. It is of a youg couple standing in a garden. It’s in excellent condition with an elaborate old frame. I want to sell it. Please reply if interested.

My parents have a original of Charles Beauregard found in a barn in Virginia Beach VA in the l930’s. Apparently the people who owned the barn my Grandfather bought the land from, left it there. It’s a painting of a dog laying by a fireplace. Picture is in excellent shape, but very dark looking painting.

no doubt it needs cleaning, but do not attempt it yourself, or allow an amateur painter to do it. a museum of good repute could. But even then, beware of them allowing a junior staff member to attempt it. please send me a picture of it. I am very interested in seeing it.

Stumbled upon your site while attempting to research a painting by Charles Grant Beauregard that has been in our family since the 1920’s. My grandmother, who was an accomplished artist, had acquired a still life by Beauregard (who didn’t do still lifes) and it hung in her house until the 1990’s when I inherited it. It is signed C G Beauregard. It measures 24 x 20. The theme is a watermelon, sliced with a knife through it, flanked by a plate with slices, a tumbler, some fruit and a bottle of port(?). It is in it’s original frame. Attempting for insurance purposes to evaluate it. Would like to email pictures and ask your assistance or direction. Many thanks, MSK
